Ever wonder what actually happens when “unflushable” debris reaches a wastewater pump?
Tsurumi put its AVANT MYCZ explosion-proof chopper pump through an extreme cutting test using the kinds of debris that can create serious headaches in municipal and industrial wastewater systems.
Plastic bottles. Flip-flops. Diapers. Wet wipes. Face masks. Rope. Rubber hoses. Even metal wire mesh.
The MYCZ went to work.
Built to Chop Before Solids Can Clog
The Tsurumi AVANT MYCZ is engineered specifically for applications prone to fibrous and difficult solids.
At the heart of the pump is a rotating screw-type channel impeller working against a cast sharp-tooth suction plate. As troublesome material enters the pump, this chopping mechanism cuts and breaks down solids before they have the opportunity to wrap around the impeller or create a blockage.
That design makes the MYCZ particularly well suited for wastewater applications where rags, wipes, fibers and other debris can contribute to repeated clogging and maintenance calls.
Put to the Test
Tsurumi’s cutting test demonstrates just how aggressive the MYCZ chopping mechanism can be.
The pump was challenged with an assortment of materials that operators would never want entering a wastewater system, including bottles, footwear, diapers, wipes, masks, rope, hose and wire mesh.
The demonstration provides an impressive look at how the MYCZ attacks difficult debris before it can become a pump-stopping problem.
A Solution for Demanding Wastewater Applications
For municipal and industrial operations, clogging isn’t simply an inconvenience. A clogged pump can mean maintenance calls, equipment downtime, added labor and disruption to critical wastewater operations.
The AVANT MYCZ provides a solids-handling solution designed for environments where fibrous material and stubborn debris are part of the job.
Tsurumi’s AVANT MY Series also brings explosion-proof construction to applications requiring equipment designed for hazardous locations.
