The new aeration blowers were installed last year as part of a mandated project to increase the facility’s wet-weather treatment capacity. The new blowers are 23% more efficient than the 35 year-old blowers they replaced, resulting in an annual saving of over 1.8 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity annually, or enough electric power to supply 170 homes. The new blowers will save the City of Akron $154, 000 annually in electrical cost for the facility.

Although the Supreme Court refused to eviscerate the law, the attacks were partially successful, because they spawned Court opinions and policies from the prior administration that have created enormous uncertainty about what the law protects, and that made it more difficult and time-consuming to adequately prevent and remedy pollution of a variety of long-protected water bodies.

Marvell, AR is a small rural water system had been using an elevated storage tank for means of water pressure and volume for the town supplied by an old turbine that would only fill the elevated tank to about half of its capacity. They have a second elevated tank in the county as a back up however by only filling that tank half full it did not have enough pressure to send the water to the county tank. They also had no fire protection due to the lack of volume and pressure.
